Founded By: Nasser Farnaghi
OUR STORY
Woody Wood Burger was founded by Nasser Farnaghi, a passionate chef whose love for cooking began in 1991 when he enrolled in culinary school. After earning his degree and becoming a chef in 1993, Nasser opened his first Italian restaurant, followed by four more, including Big Man, Il Fornaro on Avenue Road and Vannis on St. Clair. In 2019, Nasser brought his culinary expertise to gourmet burgers, opening the first Woody Wood Burger location in Richmond Hill, Toronto.
The restaurant quickly became a hit, being the first in the GTA to offer gourmet food grilled over a wood-burning oven. Woody Wood Burger’s unique cooking style and commitment to quality have made it a local favourite. With the success of the Richmond Hill location, Woody Wood Burger expanded, recently opening its second location in Newmarket. Nasser’s journey from Italian cuisine to revolutionizing the burger scene continues to shape Woody Wood Burger’s story, with more exciting chapters ahead.
